Undergraduate Course Design
At Brown, I partner with faculty and staff to design, build, and maintain a wide variety of courses and programs, including winter, summer, and fall undergraduate courses that are fully online or contain online elements.
FirstYear@Brown
From 2024-25, I partnered with the Dean of First Year and Sophomore Students to redesign a fully online course that all new students are required to take. The course introduces them to Brown and its policies, prepares them to meet their advisors, and makes sure they know where they can turn if they need help. The course is taken by over 2,000 students annually, making it the biggest course at the college. I redesigned the course in Canvas, then built a newer version in Google Sites that has enhanced visual appeal and is easy for administrators to update.
Courses in Canvas
During my time at Brown, I have worked closely with faculty across numerous disciplines, from English to Biology, to design, build, maintain, or enhance undergraduate courses in the Canvas LMS. This usually involves understanding a course’s learning goals, meeting with the instructor, and working with colleagues to provide sound technical and pedagogical solutions to make sure our courses meet students’ needs.
